WarmlyYours Cork underlayment system is an excellent insulation choice when electric floor heating is installed under laminate over a concrete slab, and is highly recommended for acoustical impact isolation and crack suppression. Cork is durable, lightweight, and is easy to install, and is the ideal solution under our Environ IITM floor heating system. Cork should be considered when installing electric floor heat under carpet, laminate floors or floating wood floors, as well as some applications where you are setting tile or stone flooring - especially where acoustical impact isolation or crack suppression is needed. Cork is ideal for residential and light commercial applications, and is not recommended for use under self-leveling underlayment(s).

How many times does a floor need to be laid?

It took four attempts by the builders to lay a flat floor in the porch. At one point the builder tried to tell the tiler to lay a cheap layers of tiles to get a flat surface onto which the proper tiles could be laid. Bizarre! In the end, the tiler screeded the floor himself.

Looking at it now, I can see that the tiles are not quite straight.

I ended up using the spacers as pegs. The reason was that I was using quite deep layer of adhesive and found that they got lost under the tile.
